1 About EchoeBack

EchoeBack LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates a digital time capsule platform. You can create, schedule, and deliver text and video messages to your future self or to others at a chosen date. All features, updates, and services are subject to these Terms.

3 Accounts & Registration

To use EchoeBack, you must register with a valid email and create a password. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information (full name, email, date of birth).
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.

4 Creating & Delivering Capsules

When you create a capsule, you compose your message (letter body or video), add sender and recipient details, and schedule a delivery date for any point in the future.

Once submitted, your capsule is encrypted (AES-256), stored securely, and delivered automatically on the scheduled date via email (AWS SES). EchoeBack is not responsible for delivery failures caused by invalid recipient email addresses, email filters, or third-party provider issues.

5 Fees, Payments & Donations

• Single credit purchases: One-time purchases of individual capsule credits at posted prices (video or letter type, amount tracked per credit).
• Bonus credits: May be granted by EchoeBack for promotions or support — tracked with credit type, amount, and reason.
• Donations: Voluntary contributions at any amount. Non-refundable. No capsule credits included.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and payment intent IDs — never your card number. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.

6 License & Content Sharing

You retain full ownership of all content you create. By submitting a capsule, you grant EchoeBack LLC a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Store, process, and deliver your capsule as part of the Service.
• Display content you choose to share publicly (share consent = on) via the shared content gallery, after review through our content review queue.
• Use anonymized excerpts or testimonials in marketing (personal identifiers removed unless you opt in).

7 Content Standards & Conduct

All content you submit must be yours or you must have permission to share it. Prohibited content includes:

• Unlawful, defamatory, threatening, or harassing material.
• Hate speech, discriminatory content, or incitement of violence.
• Pornographic, sexually explicit, or exploitative content.
• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
• Spam, phishing, or fraudulent material.

Shared content goes through our content review queue — a reviewer may add notes and approve or reject submissions. EchoeBack reserves the right to remove violating content without notice and to suspend or terminate repeat offenders.

8 Privacy & Security

Your privacy matters. Our Privacy Policy details exactly what data we collect — including profile data (name, email, date of birth, subscription tier, role), capsule content, payment records, support tickets, and analytics.

We implement industry-standard security: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, Row Level Security on our Supabase/PostgreSQL database, encrypted S3 buckets for video storage, and bcrypt password hashing. See our Security page for full details.

9 Intellectual Property

10 Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraud, or to protect the platform and its users.

Upon account deletion, your email, name, subscription tier, and deletion reason are logged. All capsules, videos, letters, and profile data are permanently erased.

11 B2B & Partner Accounts

What Is an Operator?

An Operator is a verified business or individual who manages an EchoeBack B2B account on behalf of their organization, audience, or client base. Operators get access to a Partner Dashboard with tools to manage users, generate referral codes, and track revenue.

Account Types

How to Become an Operator

• Step 1 — Apply: Contact us at support@echoeback.com with your company name, contact email, account type, and a brief description of how you plan to use EchoeBack.
• Step 2 — Verification: We verify your identity and organization. You may be asked to provide a verification link (website, social media profile, or business registration).
• Step 3 — Approval: Once approved, your account status is set to "active" and you gain access to the Partner Dashboard. Your account type, user slot limit, and revenue share percentage are configured at this time.
• Step 4 — Accept Terms: You must accept the B2B-specific terms before managing users. The terms version and acceptance date are recorded.

Operator Capabilities

• User management: Add and remove users (up to the max user slot limit), track user status (active, pending removal, removed).
• Referral codes: Generate affiliate or B2B license codes with configurable max uses and reward grants.
• Revenue sharing: Reseller and influencer accounts earn a revenue share percentage tracked per payout period.
• CSV imports: Bulk user imports with row-level success/failure tracking.
• Audit logging: All administrative actions are logged with actor ID, action type, and metadata.

12 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EchoeBack LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

13 Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the federal or state courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.

14 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted with an updated "Last updated" date. For major changes, we'll notify you via your registered email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
